Police are investigating a shooting in Saskatoon early Friday morning that left a woman injured.

Saskatoon Police Service said in a news release that officers were called to the 100 block of Avenue M South around 3:30 a.m. after a report of a woman who had been shot and was lying injured outside a home.

The 25-year-old woman — who police said had what appeared to be a non life-threatening injury — reported that the shooter had fled.

A suspicious vehicle — a blue Pontiac Sunfire that had been reported stolen from North Battleford — that police said was driving near the scene was found a few minutes later abandoned in St. Paul’s Place. No further information was provided.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com .
