A West Virginia man was killed on vacation in Myrtle Beach — allegedly by a stranger who asked him for a ride.

Josh Wilson, 40, of Parkersburg, W. Vir., was at a gas station with his family before heading to their Myrtle Beach hotel when they were approached by a man for a lift last month, Myrtle Beach Sun News reported.

The kind-hearted man agreed to give the stranger a ride after dropping off his family.

“I didn’t think anything of it because he does it all the time,” his wife, Staci Wilson, told the outlet.

Wilson was found in his car, suffering from serious gunshot wounds, the newspaper reported.

He was rushed to hospital but taken off life support on July 10.

Quentin Ahmad Jean, 35, was charged in the shooting, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department in a news release .

“I went to the beach with my husband and came back alone,” Staci said. “He died a day before my birthday. I honestly never want to celebrate it again.”

The grieving widow said her late husband was completely selfless.

“He was always kind to everybody,” she said. “It didn’t matter if you were homeless, a struggling addict, if you was rich. He was nice and he tried to help out everybody and that’s how we got in this situation.”

She added: “He didn’t deserve that.”
