Vancouver(British Columbia, CANADA)에서 활동중이던 한인 산행 단체 MJM 대원 6명이 Mt. Harvey(1,652m)로 이른봄 산행을 떠났습니다.

 

선두 5명이 정상 가까이에 도착했을 즈음 Cornice을 밟아 500m 수직벽 아래로 동반 추락하여 전원이 사망하는 大 참사가 발생했습니다.

■ Mount Harvey, 1,652 m (5,420 ft), is a mountain in the Britannia Range of the North Shore Mountains just northeast of the Village of Lions Bay, British Columbia, Canada.[

Name origin : Like nearby Mount Brunswick, which is Mount Harvey's line parent in prominence terms, and like other placenames in the Howe Sound region, the mountain was named in associated with the marine battle of 1794 known as the Glorious First of June. Such names were conferred by Captain Richards of HMS Plumper during his survey of the region in 1859. John Harvey (1740–1794) was the captain of HMS Brunswick and lost a limb in that battle, dying from complications from it soon afterwards.

 

Mount Harvey, 1,652m (5,420ft)는 캐나다 브리티시 컬럼비아 주 라이온스 베이 빌리지의 북동쪽에있는 노스 쇼어 산맥의 브리타니아 산맥에있는 산입니다.

이름의 유래 : Mount Harvey의 계보 인 Mount Brunswick과 마찬가지로 Howe Sound 지역의 다른 지명과 마찬가지로이 산은 Glorious First of June으로 알려진 1794 년 해양 전투와 관련하여 명명되었습니다. 이러한 이름은 1859 년 HMS Plumper의 Richards 대위가 지역을 조사하는 동안 수여했습니다. John Harvey (1740–1794)는 HMS Brunswick의 대위 였고 그 전투에서 사지를 잃고 곧 합병증으로 사망했습니다.
