Two hours later, around 11:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near King St. W. and Portland St. – east of Bathurst St. – where the driver was allegedly unable to provide proof of insurance.

“Further investigation revealed what appeared to be loose marijuana within the vehicle,” Det. Darren Worth, of 14 Division, alleged in a statement released Saturday.

A search under the Cannabis Control Act allegedly led to the discovery of an undisclosed amount of marijuana and a loaded semi-automatic pistol along with 10 rounds of .40 calibre ammunition in a magazine.

“Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested,” Worth said.
