A two-year-old boy has died after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in Mimico on Thursday night.

Emergency crews responded to a parking lot in the Albert Ave.-Lake Shore Blvd. W. area around 7:30 p.m. for a collision.

Upon arrival, they found a child with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The boy was transported to a trauma centre via emergency run and was later pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and a parent was with the child at the time of the incident
